European countries face similar issues with
- lack of affordable land prices,
- low availability of land,
- lack of transparency,
- difficulty starting new farms
- information on land yet not fully transparent.
- need for better land mobility,
Instruments are available:
- regulation on land sales and rent to
- keep prices reasonable.
- lease bakck and rent options by Land funds
- focus on land management,
nature restoration, and
rural investment. - pre‑emption rights
- leasing of public land to farmers
- credit guarantees.
- provision of access to water and training
Europe needs
better land policies,
more transparency, and
stronger public intervention to help
new generations enter farming.
